Privacy Policy

This policy covers ai-gen.datacompassai.com ("the Service"), operated by Data Compass AI ("we", "us").
What we collect
- Account profile from sign-in: your email address, plus (when you use Google Sign-In) your display name and profile picture URL.
- Detection results: for each image you submit, we keep the model verdict, per-class probabilities, threshold, model version, and a timestamp.
- Small preview thumbnail: a downscaled client-generated thumbnail (base64) so your history strip can show what you uploaded.
What we do NOT collect
- Full-size uploaded images are never written to disk. They are processed in memory by the detection backend and discarded as soon as the response is returned.
- Analytics or tracking cookies. We use a single session cookie required for sign-in (NextAuth).
- IP addresses or device fingerprints beyond what our hosting providers (Vercel, Google Cloud) log for operational and abuse-prevention purposes.
Third-party processors
- Google — Sign-In identity provider (when you choose “Continue with Google”).
- SMTP2GO — delivers the magic-link sign-in email and forwards contact-form submissions to us.
- Neon (US) — Postgres database where account profiles and detection history are stored.
- Vercel (US) — hosting and serverless functions for the web app.
- Google Cloud Run (us-east1) — runs the inference backend.
Retention and your rights
- We retain your account and detection history until you delete them.
- You can download your data as JSON from theAccount page.
- You can delete your account from the same page. This removes your profile, sessions, OAuth links, and all detection history immediately and permanently.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
